In order to see further details on ultrasound scan, and to see the baby as a baby, you will have to wait until about 11-13 weeks from your last period. At this stage the doctor can also check for certain abnormalities in the foetus. Further ultrasound scans during pregnancy will show the development of the baby and any further abnormalities that may be seen on the scan.
