The symptoms of TB



  
Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection that can affect virtually every organ in the body. It can affect the lungs, brain, stomach, intestines, kidney, liver, spleen, lymph nodes, or even the uterus. The symptoms will vary with the organ system involved. Some symptoms like fever, loss of appetite and loss of weight are common. Tuberculosis of the lungs, which is the commonest, will in addition present with prolonged cough and, in the later stages, blood stained sputum. It is not possible to describe the symptoms pertaining to all organs here. If you have prolonged fever and any other associated symptoms, and you live in an area prone to tuberculosis, you should definitely get checked up for it.
