Breast Feeding

There is no recommended time period for a mother to stop breastfeeding. It is recommended for mothers to exclusively breastfeed their child for the first six months. During this time no other food, including water, needs to be given to the baby. Around the age of six months, breast milk alone is not sufficient for development of the child. So the child has to be fed additional solid food. Over time, the child is weaned off breast milk completely. The time at which to stop breastfeeding is entirely upto the mother. Some mothers prefer to breastfeed the child for as long as possible. Others stop breastfeeding around 6-8 months
