DRUNK DRIVER RAMS INTO PEDESTRIANS,INJURES MANY IN LAGOS

At about 1400 hours yesterday,opposite the popular Daikon Hotel,along the Isheri-Isolo Road,a man confirmed to be drunk,driving a black Nissan Pathfinder jeep, lost control of his vehicle and skidded off the road,hitting and wounding over seven pedestrians by the walkway.

Police officers from the traffic section of Isheri-Oshun Division arrived the scene of the ghastly crash almost immediately to salvage the situation.

Timeswatch correspondent who arrived the scene of the accident scooped that over Seven people sustained varying degrees of injury but were rushed to the hospital by the police officers for medical attention.Our correspondent also confirmed that the drunken driver and his vehicle were arrested and taken to the station.Eye witnesses at the scene sang the praise of the traffick men of the Isheri-oshun 

Division for their promptness and professional conducts.

The DPO of the division,CSP Chike Ibe, when contacted said that the driver drove under the influence of Alcohol and caused the calamity,and so must be made to face the law. He also assured that his men are better positioned to handle crime situations. He cautioned citizens against all forms of recklessness and crime.
